KALW Managing Director

​Eli Wirtschafter is the Managing Director of KALW Public Media. Previously, he was the director of Uncuffed, KALW's award-winning radio training program and podcast for people in prisons. He led the launch of the Uncuffed podcast, which has been featured in the New York Times, All Things Considered, and The Guardian.

Eli learned the craft of radio journalism in KALW's Audio Academy and interned with The California Report and KQED News.
